Psalm 4

Today's Bible reading was awesome!!! I like to read Genesis in the morning and Matthew, Psalms, and Proverbs in the evening.

Psalm 4 really touched me so I want to memorize it. It reads:

1)  Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
2)  How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame?
How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood?
3)  But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly;
The Lord will hear when I call to Him.
4)  Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
5)  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord.
6)  There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?”                                                                   Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
7)  You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
8)  I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
(Psalms 4:1-8 NKJV) (bold, underline, & italics added)

How comforting this Psalm is!!! It is always nice to hear that being angry isn't a sin in itself although it is easy to sin in our anger. Instead lay down, meditate, and be still. I have learned to do a lot of that this past year. I also like how it is comforting that "You relieve me in my distress" and "Put gladness in my heart." This is a beautiful Psalm! Can't wait to memorize and pray this Psalm!

Have YOU read your Bible today? Get going on it! :)

This is my nephew doing my hair and makeup after Christmas. Although I may look like a clown, I'm thankful he put the lipstick on the lips and not elsewhere; :) my niece helped out a great deal too.
